Agronomic Knowledge Day 2023

Our annual Agronomic Knowledge Day is coming up on Thursday, August 10! Like last year’s event, it will be held at our Answer Plot Vision Site in Dale, Ind. There will be two identical sessions, morning and evening, to best fit your schedule. Registration for the morning session will be from 7:00-7:45 a.m.* and registration for the evening session will be from 3:00-3:45 p.m.* Each session will last approximately 4 hours following the conclusion of registration, the morning ending at 12:00 p.m.* and the evening ending at 8:00 p.m.*

During this event, you will have the opportunity to listen to industry professionals speak about topics like In-Furrow and Row Starters, Nutrients and Additives, Fertilizer Placement, Seed Selection, and Ground Level Weed Control. There will also be an Expo Tent with industry vendors and organizations and an opportunity to make early seed orders.

Keynote: Prioritizing What’s Important
Todd Meyer, Superior Ag – Agronomy Sales Manager | Meyer received his B.S. in Agriculture Systems Management from Purdue University. He began his career at Dubois County Co-op as an Agronomy Sales Specialist, and then transitioned to the role of Area Business Manager for Land O’Lakes Seed Division, and Area Business Manager for Winfield United. He returned to Superior Ag as the Precision Ag Department Manager and later transitioned to his current position as the Agronomy Sales Manager. His passion for agriculture started at a young age as he grew up on a dairy and grain farm. Todd and his wife, Erin, reside in Holland with their three children.

Guest Speakers:
Joe Rickard, WinField United – Crop Protection Product Manager | Rickard is a Crop Protection Product Manager for WinField Solutions, LLC in the states of IL, IN, OH, MI and the northeastern United States. He is responsible for the training and education of internal and retail staff on products and agronomic practices within the cooperative system. Rickard has a Bachelor of Science (Horticulture and Crop Science) from The Ohio State University and his Master of Science (Crop Science) from University of Illinois. He resides in Beloit, Ohio with his wife and three children
 
Amanda Bahn-Ziegler, Truterra – Account Manager | Bahn-Ziegler is an Account Manager for Truterra, the sustainability arm of Land O’Lakes. She supports retailers who want to offer sustainable farming solutions to their farmer-customers, including access to Truterra’s Carbon Program, which launched in January of 2021. Prior to joining Truterra, she spent seven years with WinField United supporting retailers on product lines including seed, technology, and plant nutrition. Amanda comes from a small dairy farm background in Wisconsin and now lives in north-central Ohio on her husband’s family farm.
 
Tom Sinnott, WinField United – Account Manager Southwest Indiana | Sinnott is a Winfield United Account Manager covering the southwest Indiana region. His career in agriculture started in 2006 after his service in the United States Navy. Sinnott worked at Superior Ag for 14 years in agronomy sales, where he developed the knowledge to become a CCA. In his role at Superior Ag, he assisted farmers in selecting the right seed and crop protection products for their farm acre by acre. In 2017, Sinnot joined Winfield United as a Seed District Sales Manager. He has covered all partner brands throughout the cooperative system, expanding his knowledge of seed placement and hybrid advancement over the years. He resides in Boonville with his wife, Crystal, and their two daughters.
 
Johnny Marchino, WinField United – Product Implementation Specialist | Marchino is a Winfield United Implementation Specialist partnered with Superior Ag. Specializing in ag chemicals, he enjoys working with the sales team and helping customers gain a larger ROI. Marchino received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Systems Management and a minor in Farm Management from Purdue University in 2010. He began his career as a Winfield Associate. Since then, he has held various roles assisting Superior Ag including his previous role as a Crop Protection District Sales Manager. He resides on his family’s farm in Vincennes with his wife, Shelby, and their daughter. Marchino is also proud to be a seventh generation farmer raising cattle and row crops.
 
Superior Ag Speakers:
Jesse Uebelhor – Division Agronomist | Uebelhor started working for Dubois County Co-op where he learned to scout fields, run machinery, and build customer relationships. He has an Associates Degree in General Agriculture from Vincennes University and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics with an emphasis in Agronomy from Purdue University. Upon graduation, Uebelhor returned to Dubois County Co-op as a Sales Specialist. Then he became a Partnered District Sales Manager for Land’O Lakes and Croplan. He is currently a Division Agronomist at Superior Ag working with staff and customers to create innovative solutions. He spends his free time working on his family’s farm and spending time with his wife, Erin, and their three children.
 
Isaac Schroeder – Division Agronomist | Schroeder graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences. He spent his college summers as a Superior Ag intern and was able turn that opportunity into a full-time position as an applicator at Superior Ag. Since 2012, Schroeder has served as an Agronomy Sales Specialist at the Boonville location. Over the last year, he transitioned to a Division Agronomist role, focusing on collecting agronomic data throughout the Superior Ag service area and training sales specialists. Isaac resides in Tell City with his wife, Kyla, and two children.
 
Jason Lueken – Precision Ag Manager| Lueken graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Administration. He started his career as a Precision Ag Specialist with Hutson. In 2015, he joined Superior Ag as the Precision Ag Manager. In this role, Lueken oversees grid soil sampling, tissue sampling, variable rate fertilizer and planting prescriptions, planting research plots, and agronomic trials. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their daughter. Together they also have a registered Angus cow/calf operation.
 
Adam Messmer – Precision Ag Specialist | Messmer graduated from Purdue University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics. He then joined Superior Ag as a Precision Ag Specialist, where he helps coordinate aerial application, soil sampling, winter planter meter testing, and provides in-season technical assistance to growers. He enjoys being outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He resides in Ireland with his wife, Emily, dog, Stella, and a baby on the way in December.
 
Seth Leinenbach – Agronomy Sales Specialist | Leinenbach graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Accounting and a minor in Agriculture. Previously, he worked as an Animal Nutrition Sales Specialist for Purina for six years. He joined Superior Ag in 2018 as an Agronomy Sales Specialist. In his role, Leinenbach enjoys selecting hybrids and varieties that best fit his growers’ management and fertility plans. He also manages our Dale seed treatment facility, and utilizes his accounting background to help growers achieve maximum ROI. He resides in Holland with his wife, Jyl, and their three children. When he isn’t working, he enjoys running their registered Hereford cattle operation and watching his children show cattle across the country.
 
Mike Michel – Agronomy Sales Specialist | Michel graduated from Purdue University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics. He joined Superior Ag as an Applicator & Precision Ag Technician at the Patoka branch. In 2009, he became an Agronomy Sales Specialist, serving customers at Mackey, Patoka and Haubstadt locations. He enjoys fast-paced growing seasons and watching his customers hit or exceed their goals. Michel resides in Fort Branch with his wife, Laura, and their two children.
