Excel Equine Carbolyte

Carbolyte® is a low starch and sugar feed that is designed for horses that need to limit intake of readily digested carbohydrates like starch. It is composed of ingredients to minimize starch levels while optimizing other nutrient levels.

Additional protein, vitamin, or mineral supplements are not needed when fully fortified Carbolyte® is fed as directed. Feed with liberal quantities of good quality hay and/or pasture and free-choice salt. Mares – Barren and early-pregnant mares should consume 8–10 lbs/day when using poor quality forage and intake of Carbolyte® decreased when good quality forage is available. Late pregnant mares – should be fed 8–10 lbs/day plus liberal quantities of good quality forage. Lactating mares – Feed 8–12 lbs/day along with liberal quantities of good hay and/or pasture depending on body condition and milk production. Mature Horses – Feed 0.5-1.50% of body weight per day (5 1/2 pounds per day for most light horses) depending on work intensity, body condition, and quality of forage available. Adjust feed intake to maintain desirable body condition. All Excel Equine® horse feeds should be fed with liberal quantities of good quality hay and/or pasture and free choice salt. Provide clean, fresh water at all times. Store feed in a clean, dry place protected from insects and rodents. Never feed moldy or insect infested feed to horses as it may cause illness, digestive upset or death.
